We are looking for submissions to our upcoming zine Mutual Aid and Beyond, deadline to submit is 4/30/2020 @ 11:59 PM EST. •
In the spirit of documentation and tying our histories to our present realities, BQIC is curating a zine that explores the topic of “mutual aid” in its many forms. We invite you to define what “mutual aid” means or looks like to you, and what our world can become when it is part of an overall radical and revolutionary shattering practice. How have your families, chosen or not, practiced mutual aid? What did it look like before a term was applied to it? How do you practice or hope to practice? What could it look like moving forward?

BQIC has already organized and printed two original zines, OBSIDIAN and ONYX.

OBSIDIAN, our first zine released in June 2017, celebrates the livelihood and talent of Black queer and trans folks, featuring visual and written art from nine Black queer and trans folks who live in Central Ohio. Click here to read OBSIDIAN.

ONYX, our second zine released in June 2018 as part of Columbus Community Pride, uplifts queer and trans people of color’s narratives about pride, featuring visual and written art from twelve queer and trans people of color who live in Central Ohio. Click here to read ONYX.
