BQIC’s Free Resource Friday is coming back this Friday February 22nd @ 6:00-8:00 PM! We’ll be distributing free food, free hygiene items, and free clothes outside of the Jackson Pike Jail (2460 Jackson Pike). Typically we set up in black or low-income neighborhoods to pass out resources, but this time we’ll be outside the jail so we can also provide aid to the folks getting out of jail for the day. All who need resources are welcome to stop by! If you’d like to volunteer or if you’d like to donate items, message us or email us at blackqueercolumbus@gmail.com! Flyer design: @a.s.l.princess
Valentine's Day marks 500 days Edith Espinal has been living in sanctuary in Columbus, OH. Instead of roses, express your love and solidarity by giving $12, $24, or $36 and share this post! #LetEdithStay @solidaritywithedith
We are so thankful to all who came out to the Trans Prisoner Solidarity event in Cincinnati yesterday. The strategy session, MAJOR! film screening, and panel discussion were all insightful and energizing! Along with the other co-hosting orgs from yesterday, we created OPALL — the Ohio Prison Abolition LGBTQ+ League. OPALL is a statewide coalition that will work to aid our queer and trans siblings caged behind prison walls. Contact us if you’d like to receive updates on how to plug in! #BlackTransLivesMatter #BurnThePrisons #NoClosetsNoCages
